A wonderful antique Wedgwood caneware game pie dish, rich with the character and craftsmanship that make early English pottery so special. The lid is topped with a charming rabbit finial that serves as the handle, while a small vent hole allows steam to escape during baking. Around the body of the dish, an intricately detailed game scene brings the piece to life, celebrating the traditional sporting motifs often found in antique English ceramics. The warm, earthy tones of the caneware make this a particularly lovely example to display in a country kitchen or among a collection of antique pottery.
